I just started and finished the book Sold by Patricia McCormick. McCormick went to India and Nepal to talk to girls that had been sold to and rescued from the slave trade and then wrote a novel based on those interviews. I love the way that she wrote it. I think my favorite thing about the book is that you had to face the fact that this is happening now. When I read books like this I want to think that it isn't going on, or that it happened a long time ago. However, when the author mentions David Beckham and the Bold and the Beautiful- it is much harder to keep reading under false pretenses.
